Memoranda of incidents connected with the life of Col. Rice ..., 1862 Dec. 25-1863 May 7.

Rice, commanding officer of the 44th New York Volunteer Regiment, copied into this volume letters he sent to his wife, Josephine, as well as general orders, circulars and other official communications. This material was evidently meant to serve as a record of the exploits of the regiment and its role in the Battle of Fredericksburg, which Rice fully describes.
